Checklist when locking up and leaving the yacht for extended time
Remove batteries from flashlights
Turn OFF gas at gas bottle and isolator switch.
Strap down dinghy fuel tank
Install dingy cover + secure bottom straps
Pull dinghy drain plug
put dinghy up on davits
Strap dinghy down for storage
Put on instrument covers.
Put on helm canvas.
Empty and dry refrigerator. Leave open if not used for an extended time.
Remove all rubbish
Wipe clean all smooth surfaces in saloon, galley and head.
Remove depth/ speed transponder
Close head sink thru hull.
Flush KO thru head.
Turn OFF drain valves for sink, shower and wash basin.
Water Pressure Off
Water Valves Closed
Check electric bilge pump is set to auto.
Turn OFF all unneeded breaker switches
Water heater off
Turn OFF windlass breaker (pull out)
Ensure shore power is on.
Check both hatches are securely closed and locked and canvas installed.
Check all lines are tied and coiled.
Make sure cockpit lockers are padlocked.
Lock companionway hatch.
